FAQ
Ragdolls are exceptional cats in every way. In my opinion, they are one of the most wonderful and beautiful feline breeds in the world. These are large cats with striking blue eyes, gorgeous semi-long coats, and an outstanding temperament. True to their name, Ragdolls completely relax when picked up, becoming floppy in your arms. They are remarkably gentle, calm, and trusting, ideal for families with young children, seniors, or people living alone. They love everyone equally and are not prone to attaching themselves to just one person. Their warm, loving nature makes them the most affectionate, purring companions you could ever imagine.
They are perfect for families with children, you don’t have to worry that a Ragdoll, accidentally pulled by the tail by a curious toddler, would ever respond with aggression. We trust them completely when it comes to temperament. Because of these qualities, they are irreplaceable in animal-assisted therapy.
Ragdolls can be considered “low-ground” cats, they are not usually interested in climbing to the top of your furniture or knocking over your porcelain collection. Flies or other airborne creatures will spark their curiosity rather than trigger their hunting instincts. Despite their calm nature, they still enjoy playtime – though their play is far less dynamic than that of more active breeds.
A Ragdoll is a unique cat, but still a cat nonetheless! I often call them “broken cats” with affection. A Ragdoll won’t hunt mice or birds, won’t always land on all four paws, and it’s hard to awaken their “wild feline” instincts. But that’s exactly why we adore these sweet, floppy dolls. ❤️
Is every Ragdoll this sweet?
Unfortunately, no! It all depends on individual traits and the family (breeder/line) the cat comes from. For me, one of the most important breeding criteria is the true Ragdoll temperament – the one this breed is so famous and loved for. Sadly, not every Ragdoll is a “floppy doll” in character.
The Sweetness Scale, I recently introduced a fun way to rate the temperament of my kittens, from 1 to 6 hearts:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ – Extremely sweet
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ – Absolutely sweet
❤️❤️❤️❤️ – Exceptionally sweet
❤️❤️❤️ – Very sweet
❤️❤️ – Sweet
❤️ – Nice
Even a Ragdoll with one ❤️ is still sweeter than most cats of other breeds, but a Ragdoll with no hearts does not, in my view, meet the breed’s temperament standard.
More about Ragdolls will soon be available in my upcoming book!
As a starting point, €1,500 is the base price for a beautiful pet-quality kitten from my cattery.
The price of each kitten is influenced by everything their development, temperament, coat pattern, colour distribution, type, eye colour intensity, coat length, pedigree lines, gender, age… and many other factors.
In short I do not have one fixed price for all kittens, because each one is unique, irreplaceable, and born – not manufactured. 🙂
Please tell me what your dream kitten looks like, and what budget you have in mind for their purchase, and I will let you know if I currently have such a kitten available.
Prices in My Cattery Can Change
I would like to emphasise that my kitten prices are not fixed. They may go down occasionally, but more often they increase as the kitten grows and develops.
Why? Because kittens are not products they are living beings who change every day. Their price reflects their current condition and development.
In fact, the price usually goes up because the older the kitten, the more developed, well-shaped, and individually prepared they are. This adds to their value both as a future family member and as a potential breeding cat.
